China Unicom’s integration of big data and artificial intelligence (中國聯通的大數據與人工智慧融合)
In today’s globalized industries, the integration of Big Data and AI technologies has become essential. In this talk, Dr. Lin will offer a concise introduction to China Unicom. He will then delve into the intricacies of data science, data analytics, and data engineering, equipping students for their future careers in the field. Additionally, Dr. Lin will highlight China Unicom’s digital transformation solutions across diverse industries and share expectations for DT/IT engineers within the organization.
About the Speakers
Dr. Michael Lin currently serving at China United Network Communications Corporation Limited Guang Dong Branch (China Unicom Guang Dong), holds the position of General Manager at the Digital and AI Innovation Centre. In this role, he oversees research on IT and DT applications and manages daily operations. Dr. Lin’s career trajectory includes serving as Deputy General Manager of the Information Technology Divisionin 2017, where he focused on big data application research. Prior to that, he held the position of Senior Technical Director in the Internet Affairs Business Unit of China Unicom Guang Dong in 2014. His journey began at China Unicom HQ in Beijing, where he worked as a researcher in telecommunication application services after earning his PhD from the University of Cambridge, Gonville & Caius College in 2009.
